Delete your account or data

1. Delete your account from the app

This is the fastest option, and works if you can still sign in:

1. Open UnKover and go to Settings.
2. Tap My account.
3. Scroll down and tap Delete account.
4. Confirm in the dialog that appears.

This immediately and permanently deletes your Google sign-in record, deletes that account's teleprompter scripts from this phone, and signs you out. It cannot be undone.

2. Request deletion without the app

If you have uninstalled UnKover, can no longer sign in, or would simply rather not use the app, email us at potato.lab.cc@gmail.com from the Google account you signed in with and ask us to delete your account. Include the email address on the account so we can find it.

We will delete your account record by hand. We process these requests within 30 days.

Your teleprompter scripts are the one thing we cannot delete for you this way: they were only ever on your phone, and we never had them. To remove them, delete the account from the app as in Section 1, or clear UnKover's storage in your phone's settings, or uninstall the app.

3. What gets deleted, and what doesn't

• Deleted immediately, either way: your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile photo URL. You will no longer be able to sign in with that record; signing in again creates a new one.
• Not deleted automatically: any support message thread you sent us (subject, message body, timestamps, open/closed status) is kept so we can still see your support history. Deleting your account does not erase these. To have a thread erased too, say so in your email in Section 2, or send it separately, and we'll delete it within 30 days.
• Deleted from the phone, if you delete the account in the app: that account's teleprompter scripts and prompter settings. Scripts are kept on each phone separately and never uploaded or backed up, so if you used the same account on another phone, clear UnKover's storage or uninstall it on that phone as well.
• Kept with your recordings: a recording made with the prompter open keeps a copy of the script it was read from, on your phone, for as long as the recording itself exists. Delete the recording, and empty it from the trash, to remove it.
• Never collected: your recorded video and audio, and your teleprompter scripts. All capture, filters, segmentation, face detection, and gesture recognition run on your device; nothing you record or write in the prompter is ever uploaded, so there is nothing of that kind for us to delete.
• Crash and analytics data is not linked to your identity by us and is retained on Google's own default schedule for those services, independent of your account.
